Wildlife
Policies
Many
wildlife species found at the resort are protected either by federal
or state laws. For
our guests' safety, and for the safety of our wildlife,
we ask that you please follow a few simple guidelines:
•
While
you enjoy the beauty of our resort wildlife, please do not feed
or touch wildlife. This will help ensure that they'll be around
to enjoy for years to come.
• We
ask that you please not bring any kind of weapons on resort property.
This includes pellet guns, slingshots or other projectile-type
weapons. These can injure or even kill our resort wildlife.
• You
can help us keep our beautiful English Mute Swans happy and healthy
by keeping a safe distance, and by not touching them.
• Fishing
is permitted in designated areas of our resort—including the pond
located on Orange Lake Blvd. across from villas 3231-3246. If
you do fish, we encourage a catch and release policy. For guest
and wildlife safety, fishing is not permitted in Swan Lake or
in the beach or dock areas.
These
policies are meant to keep our resort a safe environment for everyone.
Wildlife
Hotline
Focus
on Wildlife (FOWL) is a wildlife information line for use by owners,
guests and employees who would like to learn more about any of
the resort's wildlife programs. From the resort, dial FOWL
(ext. 3695).
