Wet 'n Wild®

This "retro raft adventure" places you in a four-person, cloverleaf-style raft that descends through a time warp to Funky Town—with 1970s disco sounds and flashing lights. Forget your boogie shoes—they won't be able to save you from a spinning loop that "flushes" you into a pool below.

Whether you've visited Orlando theme parks 100 times or are about to go for the first time, here we've compiled the top attractions for experiencing the ultimate thrills in Central Florida.

SheiKra
Busch Gardens®, Tampa Bay

The country's first "dive coaster," or the first coaster featuring a 90-degree drop. SheiKra will carry you up 200 feet before shooting you straight down at 70 miles an hour. There's a second 90-degree drop through an underground tunnel, a 360-degree feature called a climbing carousel, a loop and a final plunge through water.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster
Universal's Islands of Adventure®

He's mean. He's green. And he'll shoot you out of a tunnel, going from 0 to 40 miles per hour in two seconds flat. According to themeparkinsider.com: "This green monster launches you off at one G, right into a zero-G roll, and downward at 58 miles per hour—then into a 109-foot inversion."

Dueling Dragons
Universal's Islands of Adventure®

Pick from one of two tracks (fire or ice) and "face off" with the other coaster. In fact, you'll come within inches of the other coaster during a series of "fly-bys" too intense to describe. You'll reach speeds of up to 55 miles per hour.

Kraken
SeaWorld®

Experience t he only floorless coaster in Orlando, reaching speeds of up to 65 miles per hour with seven gravity-defying loops. Named after a legendary sea monster, Kraken is a mythological underwater beast that's unleashed from the depths of the sea to take you on this spiraling screamer of a thrill ride!

Kumba
Busch Gardens®, Tampa Bay

After the excitement of an initial 135-foot drop, you'll plunge from 110 feet into a diving loop. Then you'll feel three full seconds of total weightlessness, as you spiral 360 degrees and tear through one of the world's largest vertical loops. Inversions leave you hanging completely upside down seven times!

Montu
Busch Gardens®, Tampa Bay

You'll reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and drop 128 feet, but you won't care. You'll be screaming with joy and exhilaration, with the wind in your face and your feet dangling happily on this unbelievable floorless coaster.

Space Mountain®
Magic Kingdom® at Walt Disney World®

The whole family can scream together on this indoor coaster that makes you feel like you're speeding through space. But beware—some of the dips, twists and very sharp turns are not for the faint of heart.

Test Track
Epcot® at Walt Disney World®

Here you're part of the tests at an automotive proving ground. Get ready—you'll be racing through banked curves to 60 miles per hour! This is one of Epcot's most popular rides, so you'll want to get a Fast Pass in advance.

"The Twilight Zone Tower of TerrorTM"
Disney-MGM Studios

If you like to be scared, you'll want to take a tour of this abandoned Hollywood Hotel, where a freight elevator drops you 13 stories—again and again—in different dropping patterns.

Dr. Doom's Fear FallTM®
Universal's Islands of Adventure®

Want to be whisked 150 feet into the air? Before you answer, keep in mind you'll be pushed back down faster than gravity. If your answer is still yes, Dr. Doom delivers plenty of screams to please!

Journey to Atlantis
SeaWorld®

Your race on water and high-speed rails to protect the lost city of Atlantis culminates in an exhilarating, 60-foot splashdown.

Jurassic Park River Adventure
Universal's Islands of Adventure®

Travel back in time and run from raptors in this exciting prehistoric water adventure! But be warned—the only escape route is a drenching, 80-foot drop.

Body Wars
Epcot®

You're on a mission to save your fellow scientist! You'll be miniaturized, racing through the heart, lungs and brain of a human body. A very clever virtual experience.

Star Tours
Disney's Hollywood Studios

You'll blast into hyperspace and dodge the Death Star, as you fight intergalactic battles. It's not only exciting, it's also entertaining with a humorous narrative.

Back to the Future: The Ride®

This film favorite of the '80s comes to life in a really unique ride. You'll climb inside the famous Delorean, blast back in time and ride the movie!

Universal's Islands of Adventure®

Experience this first-of-its-kind 3-D adventure, where you'll swing on a web with the famous masked arachnoid himself.

Best bets for little ones.
When you're visiting theme parks with little ones, it helps to plan ahead. Here are some of our suggestions for creating a memorable family outing with less stress.

Know Where To Go

Here are some suggestions: At Magic Kingdom® Park, little kids love Mickey's Toontown Fair and Fantasyland. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, there's the popular Playhouse Disney and the very entertaining Muppets 3-D show.

At Universal Studios®, Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone features Barney, Curious George Goes to Town and Fievel's Playland. At Universal's Islands of Adventure®, discover the delightful Dr. Seuss land that feels just like you stepped into the storybooks.

At SeaWorld®, Shamu's Happy Harbor® is a fun, just-for-kids paradise, and Pets Ahoy! is a hilarious animal show that's great for kids and adults alike. And last but not least, you can snap a photo of your child petting a dolphin at Key West at SeaWorld.

If you like water parks, Disney's Blizzard Beach has shorter slides for kids and features like Tike's Peak. Typhoon Lagoon also keeps kids in mind with attractions like Ketchakiddee Creek.

Wet 'n Wild® offers a complete Children's Playground with miniature versions of their adult attractions so kids don't have to miss out on the fun there, either.

What to take along

Take a backpack filled with the essentials—diapers, formula, bottled water and snacks. If the backpack gets too heavy, the parks have lockers where you can stash yours until you need it.

Little ones sometimes get restless while standing in lines. You can keep them occupied with boxed juice drinks, travel games for the car and throw-away cameras. Let them take lots of pictures. It doesn't matter how they come out, and you'll have some you'll always treasure.

When to go

Going to theme parks with kids puts you on a different schedule, and one that sometimes makes it hard to avoid crowds. With small children, mornings are your best bet. Then, when it's nap time, you can head back to your villa.

At Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, parades come through in the afternoons and evenings, so you'll likely find one that suits your schedule, and the kids can enjoy it, too.

If you're spending the whole day at the park, small children will most likely take naps in strollers, so they can be refreshed and not miss too much of the action. Nap time is also the perfect time to take in a show or attraction that young ones might not appreciate as much.

Remember, if you have any resort or attraction-related question, please visit our Tickets & Transportation Desk and our Disney Planning Center in the West Village Clubhouse lobby. They'll be happy to answer all your questions.

When traveling with teens, sometimes it's better to let them explore on their own. Just make sure you have a meeting place where everyone will gather at specific time. Usually the front of the park at an information desk is the easiest to find. Teens typically enjoy the roller coasters and thrill rides. The Hulk at Universal's Islands of Adventure® is always a hit, as well as The Tower of TerrorTM at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
